Description
Made for a dear mentor who passed away due to lung cancer. I couldn't come up with a stronger title...
This print was difficult to execute. I carved the design onto the key block and transferred it to three separate blocks for color; once they were carved, I printed them layer by layer using a relief press (with really bad pressure settings). As a result, this first edition was light and ghostly, which I loved and connected to the theme. However, I had to reprint the whole edition on an etching press with brighter inks; my teacher, a very kind and generous person, suggested this change to bring out a healthier tone in the lungs and leaves, and she helped me print it again.
8x10" woodcut, four blocks using different colored relief inks.
Please, I would love your feedback!

It's a strong result and a fitting tribute. Very well done.
